I've made an Advent Calendar that will introduce the kids over the month of Advent. Sixty kids, three a day for twenty days with five days of special topics. I received a note on Facebook today from a woman saying that there has been a person parading around with my passport on Yahoo claiming that she's stuck in West Africa and needs money to get back to the United States. The woman's story, as told to me by the woman on Facebook (aka in awkward message to message chunks):
Really......arent you the women who has been stranded in West Africa for the last 4 months. Dont you need money to get home and you cant pay the hotel bill. You own a medicine shop!
interesting. There is someone posing has you on yahoo. allisonharper85@yahoo.com. Using your photo and your location. Also has your photo on a passport. She claims she is stranded in West Africa and has bit hitting on men to send her money.
Well then we have a problem. Someone last night was chatting with me. Was trying to get me to send them money to pay thier hotel bill in West Africa. That they went over to meet their boyfriend. Send me this passport as proof they werent lying
She claims she dated a man here for 2yrs. He was from Nigeria. She left the usa 4months ago to be with him. The first night she spent with him at her hotel she woke up in the morning and found him gone and he had robbed her. The hotel took her return trip ticket. But funny they have let her stay in the hotel for over 4months w/o being paid but they will not let her leave until she pays the bill. She is even posing as you on a dating sight.
I'll keep you all updated, but I know that you all know that I'm safe and sound back in the United States. I'm back in class, back to working on 501(c)(3) papers for the school, had a fabulous and very safe time (because I wasn't an idiot walking around Togo at night), and really my only bad travel incidents happened once I got back in America (in the news lately about Delta employees working as smugglers at JFK? Yeah, that got in the way of my flight home)!
Fun stuff though, eh?
